So, I'm eager to get myself a new laptop, since my nice little compaq evo n410c was stolen from me a few weeks back (satisfyingly, sans CD drive and running Linux, so it's hard to believe they could do anything with it...). Most upsettingly, of course, is the great collection of stickers I had built up for the little machine.

I've been thinking a lot about presentations as I get closer to the launch of the openDemocracy beta and am going to have to convey a lot of information to a lot of people in a lot of different forms.
In order to do this, I'll be creating a presentation, a screen-cast, a presentation to be viewed online and so on, so I want to make sure everything goes right. and by thinking out loud about presentations for a little while, I can hopefully do that: hence a fortnight dedicated to my ramblings, advice and opinion on presenting information.
Anyway, it's still the bank holiday, so we'll start light, with what has to be one of the greatest pie charts ever:
