Holidays...
OK, so it's not like I update the blog often, but a warning that I am going off for a couple of weeks surfing imminently. Mainly, because I now have this:
Brick Lane
Just a quick tumblelog to say I'm sat in a coffee shop on brick lane, feeling pretty smug and generally chilling out clos to home! Although the weather is pretty damn crappy.
Hello
Well, it certainly has beena long time since I have posted a blog entry, and a whole lot has been going down since then.
I've now moved to Shoreditch, so much closer to work than I was an more able to go out and take in the sights of the East End, which seems to suit me quite well so far!
We're getting pretty close to launching the new openDemocracy site now; I think it is looking pretty awesome, but maybe that is just me...nonetheless, it should be significantly more fast and stable, which can only be a good thing.
Finally...
Finally, I am being given the due recognition for my name on google: as the attached screenshot shows, this site is now the top result for my name! Sucks to you, old lawyer dude!
Happy Christmas and New Year etc etc
No blogging over christmas, mainly due to the fact that I have been stuffing myself with festive food and ridiculous quantities of scotch and vodka; fairly standard, really, to be honest.
NYE looks to be pretty entertaining as well; I am working in Volupte again for the night; definitely looking forward to the night:

My Makers Mark barrel

My barrel of whisky in the Makers Mark distillery is coming along well; there is now a picture of the plaque on the side, with me (and 29 others) clearly labelled. Barrels are laid down for 5-7 years at Makers Mark, and I'm pretty sure I signed up for this a few years back, so I'm still hopeful I will have enough salary by the time it is ready to buy as much fine Makers as possible, in tasty over-dipped bottles.
And in case you missed it...
I was in the Guardian on Saturday!. The dead-tree version had pictures. Expect a scan soon!
A busy week
Well, this has been an exceptionally busy week for me, hence the lack of posting. Last week at openDemocracy was a lot of work finally starting to move forward on our transition to Drupal, as well as some exciting fundraising opportunities that I/we are working on right now. That all came together to just be rather too much on my plate to allow me to blog! (Including, of course, the office christmas party, where I think I didn't embaress myself too much...?)
But I have now had a fun weekend in Bath chilling out, and visiting a few off my favourite old spots for some relaxation, which has been really lovely. Everything still seems very similar in Bath, except some shops and bars have moved to being different chains (damn you, Wagamamas!). Still seem to be a lot of the same people around, and the Union hasn't changed much, barring the putrescent green colour they have opted for in the student bar.
My sewing machine
Inspired by this BoingBoing post, and this CraftZine link, I'm putting my most recent sewing machine acquisition (ok, almost) out there to be identified. Here's a picture:
